Memory games elementary grade
Try snapping your fingers in between phrases. Breaking a verse into phrases makes it easier to memorize. You get the picture. Alternate snaps with claps and keep it moving. I got this idea from the Price is Right game, the old one.
I covered mine with felt and laid them on a table. Each week, I have two sets of words that make up the verse. We read the verse a few times then I pick two contestants. The players come up and try to arrange the words properly to make the verse.
The person to do this the fastest is the winner. We do this over and over again giving quite a few people a chance to try. Sometimes we invite teams to come up, especially for the long verses. This game is more creative and less competitive. Divide the class into groups. Challenge each to work through the Bible verse creating hand movements that will help them remember the words.
Adding simple hand motions is an easy way to help kids memorize scripture. The key is to connect the body movement with the concept as the kids recite their bible memory verse. After a set period of time, assemble the class and have each group demonstrate their movements while they recite the verse.
Your word have I hidden in my heart that I might not sin against You. Memorizing scripture is a vital discipline for every believer. Bible memorization helps us find comfort, fight sin, and know our God. Children form habits early which can have a ripple effect through the rest of their life. What a blessing it can be to train a child in the discipline of scripture memorization early in their life.

I teach preschoolers verses by repeating it with them in different voices- deep voice old man, baby voice, loud voice, small voice, mouse squeak etc.

So much fun and love! I use colored popsicle sticks to and put different exercises on them they will draw a stick and then we all do the exercise and say the memory verse. The kids love it and its physical activity! Cut out each circle.

Print several copies and have students race in pairs. Help students learn baby animal names by connecting the lamb to the sheep and the fox to the kit. Surprisingly informative! Draw a line to connect matching upper and lower case letters with this worksheet. Worksheet: What does not belong? Ask your child to close their eyes and as they do so remove one item from under the cloth. For older children, use more items and allow them to look at them for a full minute. Then cover them up and ask them to write a list or draw as many of the items that they can remember.
Players continue taking turns to remember the items purchased in order as the list gets longer and longer.
The winner is the last person who can correctly name all of the items in sequence. You can also adapt the game for children familiar with letters of the alphabet by requiring players in turn to name an item that begins with each letter of the alphabet.
Place three identical, plastic cups in a line on the table, rim down. Shuffle the cups around by sliding them across the table, switching their positions quickly back and forth and all around. Once you have stopped moving the cups ask your child to identify which cup the ball is now under. My girls love these brain box games. They are available in a wide range of themes — everything from animals to fairytales to math problems.
Success in this game requires the child to transfer a physical sensation to a mental picture and retain a short series of mental pictures in their head to correctly identify the word. The second player tries to identify the word.
Similar to The Shopping Game, using numbers makes this game more abstract and therefore more challenging. Perfect for older kids! The first person says a one digit number. The next player repeats the first number and adds another one digit number. The third person says the first and the second numbers and then adds a third number. This game is similar to the memory train. However, it takes on a greater complexity as the game continues. As such, the storytelling game is more suitable to fourth or fifth graders.
