Dont know bout win specific, but I found that actually opening a command window and running the game thru that rather than using a shortcut makes it work, I guess because of how it's done, the console must open, and then windows thinks it's finished with it and closes it again, which closes the whole program, so by already having the command window open, it doesnt exit prematurely I tried that, and I get exactly the same error.

It seems to be a graphics error or some type - I suspect DirectX 9 not liking it. Run chaos through the start menu and the video intro should start, but whenyou click the mouse to skip the intro you should be thrown back to the desktop. Video resolution was set to x with 16Bit colour, DX version 9. I never get the video to run at all. What exactly do you mean by "Run chaos through the start menu"? Do you mean go start, programmes, then run the exe? When i do that I get the usual black screen then desktop.
