Windows authentication fails iis 7.5
In general, I have an application that communicate with web services that runs on IIS 7. The authentication mode is only windows authentication configured to work with negotiate and NTLM. Sometimes I really don't know why when the user open the application, a username and password box is prompted. Failed Request tracing shows Looking in the regular logs in the IIS, I see that the username is never sent or at least shown to the IIS and that probably the cause for the failure.
If it's necessary I'll post some logs but it will take a will. In few places I read that it's may related to browser issue - Is it relevant if the access is through the application? Have you tried to monitor the traffic with Fiddler? It should tell you the request and response code for each resource on your page. The HTTP response code should be the starting point.
I already fixed the problem. It was basically configuration settings that weren't set properly and they didn't allow the authentication to happen like it should. Thank you though.
